Watch 24k!

At last! We have a trailer already! I was so excited to upload it to Youtube. Unfortunately, for some reason an error always occurs when uploading. Argh! Gotta get some help from techies tomorrow.

We also finally have our poster design from Tom Estrera.

With those two in order I can finally claim the fourth tranche from Cinemalaya. And Sharleen Tan, the Cinemalaya monitoring officer who’s in charge of making me kulit, can stop worrying about my not meeting the requirements. Hehe. All in due time.

The Cinemalaya Festival opens at the Cultural Center of the Philippines (CCP) on July 17. Screenings for my film are scheduled on

July 21, Tuesday at 12:45pm – Tanghalang Huseng Batute

July 22, Wednesday at 9:00pm – T. Nicanor Abelardo (Main theater)

Kuliglig

I have adjusted my body clock lately to work during the twilight hours. Parang taga call center. Part of the reason is because I’m working with two vampires who want instant feedback and comments on their work/queries because we are rushing post-production like anything. That would be my musical scorer Diwa de Leon, and my sound mixer Mark Villena.

We text each other at midnight, 3am, 5am, and expect instant replies.

I can’t blame them. I took me a long time to put together a decent cut of the film so the two couldn’t start right away with their work. Now they’re both working under pressure. Whatever pressure Cinemalaya puts on me, I pass it on to them. Hehehe. (more…)

Wahoo! I’m almost on picture lock!

Grabe, with all the deleted scenes and lapses in shooting, I was afraid the story would be full of holes. Now, thanks to intensive editing, I believe we will pull through after all.

Roughing it

I’m in the editing room right now with Kat and Jamo, two of the interns who helped me with the last shoot. I’ve requested them to watch the rough cut of 24k. I really need comments from people who haven’t seen the film to see how I can improve it.

The film so far runs 107 minutes. (Haha. And to think I was afraid of running undertime.) I have to find ways to cut it down.

Jamo, by the way, took some great scene and behind-the-scene photos during our last shoot. I’ll post them here when I find time.
